Beginner’s Guide to Bali Dirt Bike Tours with HRK Adventures

Sep 27, 2026 HRK Adventures

Step 1: Choose the Right Beginner Route

HRK Adventures offers two specially designed beginner routes that balance excitement with ease:

  • Ubud Rice Terrace Loop – gentle hills, scenic paddies, and plenty of shade.
  • Kintamani Volcano View – a short, flat ride that ends with a spectacular sunrise over Mount Batur.

Both tours are limited to small groups (max 6 riders) so you get plenty of personal attention from our local guides.

Step 2: Prepare Your Gear

We provide a fully serviced dirt bike and essential safety gear. Here’s what you’ll receive and what you should bring:

  • Helmet – full‑face, DOT‑approved, and cleaned after each use.
  • Protective jacket and pants – abrasion‑resistant with built‑in padding.
  • Gloves and boots – grip‑enhanced for better control on loose terrain.
  • Your own water bottle and sunscreen – Bali’s sun can be intense even in the early morning.

Step 3: Arrival and Briefing

When you arrive at our Ubud or Kintamani pickup point, you’ll be greeted by a guide who will:

  • Explain the bike’s controls and perform a quick safety check.
  • Review the route, highlighting rest stops and photo‑op spots.
  • Answer any questions you have about riding technique or the local area.

Step 4: On‑Trail Experience

During the ride, our guide rides alongside you, offering real‑time tips such as:

  • How to shift weight when navigating gentle bends.
  • When to use first gear for smooth starts on soft soil.
  • How to read the terrain – spotting loose gravel versus firm ground.

Expect a relaxed pace with frequent stops for photos, a short snack, and a chance to soak in the landscape.

Step 5: Safety Tips for First‑Time Riders

  • Stay visible – keep your helmet visor down and wear bright clothing.
  • Maintain a safe distance from other riders, especially on narrower sections.
  • Use both brakes – front brake for controlled slowing, rear brake for stability.
  • Listen to your guide – they will signal when to slow down, stop, or adjust your line.

Step 6: Post‑Ride Wrap‑Up

After the tour, you’ll return to the pickup point for a quick debrief. Our guide will:

  • Check the bike for any wear and give you basic maintenance tips.
  • Provide a souvenir photo of you on the bike with Bali’s backdrop.
  • Offer recommendations for further riding adventures if you’re ready for the next level.

Whether you’re looking for a gentle introduction or a memorable sunrise, HRK Adventures makes your first dirt‑bike experience safe, fun, and unforgettable.
